Tools and services I use everyday

I am somewhat opposed to making this page, since I want people to want less, not more.

Gear

• Laptop: Apple MacBook Pro 14" 2023 (M2 Max)
• I set up my desktop computer in 2012, which I’ve been evolving over time ever since
• Screen: LG 34WN780-B
• Phone: Google Pixel 8a
• E-reader: BOOX Go 10.3 running Android to use Zotero
• Input devices: Logitech MX Keys & MX Master 3
• 2 NASes:
  • Synology DS725+ ;
  • Synology DS723+ for off-site backups.
• Servers: a few Raspberry Pis
• Bikes:
  • Elops Single Speed 500 with SP Connect smartphone mounting ;
  • An old 1980 Peugeot bike that a friend completely restored 🚲

Operating Systems

• Computer OS: I am using NixOS with Lix because reproducibility is important to me. You can find my config here. My MacBook is supported thanks to the Asahi Linux project.
• Mobile OS: Android 17. I am considering GrapheneOS though.

Mobile Apps

I download most of my apps from the Neo Store. I don’t use any app from Google, as they are bloated and include spywares.

• OTP for 2FA authentication: Stratum

• Socials: Bluesky as a Bluesky client and phanpy as a Mastodon client.
• Podcasts: AntennaPod. I did set up a gPodder server too.

• Loyalty card wallet: Catima
• RSS feed reader: Flus
• Browser: Fennec. I use the following extensions: DarkReader, Consent-O-Matic, Ophirophox, uBlock Origin.

• Pictures: ReFra gallery app and Immich for archiving pictures.
