What I use
I am somewhat opposed to making this page, since I want people to want less, not more.
Hardware
- Apple MacBook Pro 14" 2023 (M2 Max) as my laptop
- I set up my desktop computer in 2012, which I’ve been evolving over time ever since
- Screen: LG 34WN780-B
- Phone: Samsung Galaxy S10e
- E-reader: BOOX Go 10.3 running Android to use Zotero
- Input devices: Logitech MX Keys & MX Master 3
- NASes: Synology DS725+ & Synology DS723+
- Servers: a few Raspberry Pis
- Bikes: Elops Single Speed 500, and an old 1980 Peugeot bike that a friend completely restored 🚲
OSes
- Computer OS: I am using NixOS with Lix because reproducibility is important to me. You can find my config here. My MacBook is supported thanks to the Asahi Linux project.
- Mobile OS: GrapheneOS, that I compile myself.
Mobile Apps
I download most of my apps from the Neo Store. I don’t use any app from Google, as they are bloated and include spywares.
- Basic utilities: Fossify Contacts, Fossify Phone, Fossify File Manager, Fossify Calendar, Fossify SMS Messenger, WeatherMaster, OSS Document Scanner.
- OTP for 2FA authentication: Stratum
- Emails: Thunderbird
- Socials: Bluesky and phanpy as a Mastodon client.
- Podcasts: AntennaPod. I did set up a gPodder server too.
- Keyboard: FlorisBoard
- Maps: Organic Maps and Cartes IGN
- Notes: Obsidian
- RSS feed reader: Flus
- Browser: Fennec. I use the following extensions: DarkReader, Consent-O-Matic, Ophirophox, uBlock Origin.
